Vineyard:
From Faraday, about five mins down the road from our winery in Harcourt. Sandy granitic soils, grown at high elevation, around 475m, on the cool south side of Mt Alexander. A few locals have nicknamed the vineyard site Leanganook this is the indigenous name for Mt Alexander.
Winemaking: Three separate picks over seven days for different textural elements. All destemmed, and fermented on skins for an average of 10 days. 75% aged in old oak, with 25% aged in stainless for some fresh zing. All wild ferment, full malolactic fermentation in the spring, bottled unfiltered.
